I know that I'm too late to jump on Too Faced Chocolate Bar bandwagon, but for me this palette is new, so here are my thoughts on it. Honestly I was hyped on this product like anybody else, but I wasn't sure that I would reach for this palette in my daily make-up routine. But you know what? I do! I do use it for almost every single day for about a month now. There are such a variety of colors and looks that I can create with this palette.
Too faced Chocolate Bar is a great every day palette. It has a great variety of shimmery and matt shadows, it has 10 shimmery and 6 matt shades. The shimmery ones has a great color payoff and has no fallout at all. Its creamy and blends very nicely. And what a wonderful smell! It really smells like chocolate. Chocolate Bar is made with 100% natural cocoa powder. And the funny story is, once, I used the shade called Marzipan as a lip color on the top of my lip balm. I accidentally licked my lips and it actually tasted sweet! Isn't it a lovely treat for a girl? But in some way, I feel like several shades can shed a little bit. So in my opinion, you should be careful with it.
The packaging is made in the form of chocolate, what is very pretty. It's not too light and not too heavy. The magnet is a little bit weak in my opinion, but I think that Too Faced did a great job with the packaging. This palette goes with How-to Glamour Guide with three looks in it: Milk Chocolate, Semi Sweet and Haute Cocoa. Well, I don't usually use things like this, just because I like to create my own look in my own way. But this guide can be very handy for people who just want to relax and don't want to think too much about which look to choose.
So lets speak about my favorite and not so favorite colors in Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. Let's start from my favorites. I won't lie, I love shimmery colors. In my everyday make-up routine I tend to reach for the shimmery colors the most, just because I have so much fun to play around with it. So it's not a surprise that my favorites are the shimmery ones. The most favorite one is Marzipan. It's such a beautiful peachy nude color. It hasn't that chunks of glitter that a lot of shadows tends to have, it has a very delicate glow to it. This shade makes your make-up look casual even though it's a shimmery one and I think that it's a great base for some summer looks. Another favorite of mine is Champagne Truffle. It's a gorgeous highlighter shade that looks a little bit frosty pink, but actually has a golden sheen to it. You can use it as a highlighter, or as a base for a very light look with just an eyeliner on the top. It's so multi-purpose and I love shades like this. It's smooth and buttery, and blend so easily.
Now let's talk about my least favorite colors. I don't think that they don't work or have a bad pigmentation, but I honestly think that they shed on me and the things get messy under my eyes after I apply it. The shades Gilded Ganache and Candied Violet are not such a favorite of mine when it comes to applying it. Actually I think that Gilded Ganache is a great color, so interesting and unusual for a neutral palette, but the application is a little bit messy, so you have to be careful. Candied Violet has a very stiff and dry consistency and the color payoff is quite sheer, so it's definitely not favorite of mine.
To sum everything up I would say, that Chocolate Bar is a very versatile palette as it has a great variety of neutral colors and some unusual for neutral palette ones, so you can go with a very neutral look or a smoky eyes with statement underline. I definitely fell in love with this palette and sure that not only make-up junkies, but everybody needs to have it in their life.
