I've found Natasha Denona's makeup line not so long ago through the YouTube and was immediately interested in her works and conception as an artist. As there were a lot of great reviews on her makeup line, I decided to give it a shot and try some of her products out. I found a lot of quite attractive makeup on her site, watched some of her videos and was blown away by her "Glowing Skin" video. So let's talk about each product that I bought.
ALL OVER GLOW FACE & BODY SHIMMER IN POWDER
This product claims to be "hydrating shimmer, in powder form, that gives a glowing and healthy texture to the skin. It may be applied to both face and body, and is ideal for creating that perfect Hollywood look." And I completely agree! It really gives you the most beautiful glow! I got mine in 01-Light. It has three shades and the last one is quite dark.
The shimmer in this powder is so fine that it gives you very natural and healthy glow. When I applied it for the first time I fell in love with it! It gave my skin nice, subtle sheen. Its light and very comfortable to wear. And what is the most important to me, this powder does not make my makeup look cakey. I have very dry areas under my eyes and whenever I try to set or just put a little bit of brighting powder there, it looks extremely cakey. But this powder doesn't emphasize skin texture, pores or dry areas, it smoothes all imperfections. As it contains Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, which supposes to slow water loss from the skin by forming barrier on it, your skin feels nice and moisturized.
I really like this one. And it's not crazy expensive. It retails for 38$, which is the same price as for the Becca's simmering perfectors. The packaging is very chic and simple, golden with mirror surface. The mirror inside is quite big, so you don't have to use the bigger one while applying powder. I think that Natasha did a very thoughtful work on the packaging, though fingerprints on the mirror surface may drive you nuts. It drives ME nuts :)
FACE GLOW FOUNDATION SPF 15
As a matter of fact, I wasn't going to buy this foundation, but when I saw that "Glowing skin" video, I decided to try this one. It looked amazing on the model. Her skin was glowing in the most amazing way. So I thought it would be interesting to try something new. You see, usually I don't wear dewy foundations, because I have a very oily T-zone. I always preferred matte foundations and mattifying powders. But as I got older, my skin got a little bit dryer on cheeks and under my eyes, and now I need a little bit of a dewiness in those areas. I got my Face Glow foundation in the shade "neutral porcelain" or number 10. The color range is quite wide. Natasha has 12 different shades including really light one for fair people, like me, and very dark one for women of color.
Because of that video, I thought that this foundation is very light, but in fact, it has quite thick consistency. And it's a little bit hard to spread foundation all over your face. I tried to blend it with my beauty blender and felt like the product stayed mostly on the sponge, than on the skin. So I decided to apply it with a brush and the results were stunning. It blended very nicely, left skin glowing and healthy looking. It feels a little bit sticky at first, but once you set it with powder (I set it with All Over Glow Face & Body Shimmer in Powder), you don't feel any stickiness at all!
I would say that the coverage is from light to medium. It covers some imperfections and discoloration, but if you have some serious problems it won't help you. You should additionally use a concealer. But in total I think, that it's great dewy foundation with pretty nice coverage. It has pump, so non of nasty bacteria will creep into the tube. Here in Japan it's very hot and sunny outside, that's why SPF 15 is a definite plus for me personally.
This foundation wears quite nicely throughout the hot summer day, but I feel like in a very hot weather, you will need a blotting paper. But, again, I have a very oily T-zone and it is really hot here (about 95 degree and 92% of humidity). So it all depends on how hot the weather in your city or even country is. I liked this foundation, but may be I will use it more in fall or winter, when it won't be so hot and humid here.
EYE LIGHT HIGHLIGHTING CONCEALER
I'm in constant search for a good concealer. The main problem is in my dark circles. I have really bad circles and need to cover it every single day. On the other hand, my under eyes area is very dry, so to have a good concealer in my everyday makeup routine is crucial for me. Of course when I was shopping on Natasha Denona site I checked her concealers. And this one draw my attention. It claimed to create flawless skin finish and to have full coverage. So of course I bought it.
I chose the lightest shade. In total it has 4 shades which is pretty good for a concealer. In Japan the average concealer has only two or three shades. It's a pen concealer with silicone tip and clicking bottom. Now, it takes some time to get the product out. So don't click too much or else you'll have to deal with too much product. And this is a waste as this concealer isn't cheap, it costs 29$.
The lightest shade has a distinctive pinky-coral shade and the pigmentation is crazy! It really covers all of your problem areas! Covers dark circles completely. Of course as it has coral shade to it, you need to apply another concealer in order to cover that craziness and not to look like you've cried all night. This concealer has a light consistency and glides on smoothly, and what is interesting, has a powdery finish to it. I didn't feel like it crease on me much and think this is a great concealer for those who wants to cover dark circles.
When I saw a couple of great reviews on Natasha Denona's lip products and decided to choose something. I really wanted lip glaze in a very light pinky shade. In Japan it's very hard to find the colors like that. So I chose "Bleach" - very pale, pinky beige color. And this lip glaze became my favorite after the first application! It's amazing!
The color is just perfect for me. I heard that this very color is a little bit sheer, but the rest of Natasha's lip glazes has a very good pigmentation. And it smells very nice. Something sweet..It smells like cookies. It has a brush applicator and very slick packaging. Its white, simple and perfect. The product itself isn't sticky at all, lips feel moisturized and full. I really felt like my lips looked more juicy, when applied it. Wears quite nicely, the lips feel moisturized for a long time, but if you have a cup of coffee, you definitely need to reapply it. This Lip Glaze became my favorite and I think I'm going to buy more colors.
In general I have a feeling that I found a really nice brand and want to try out some more Natasha Denona's products. I heard great reviews on her eyeshadows, so may be I will post my new Natasha Denona haul soon.
