October Favorites

October Favorites

I can't believe that November has already begun and 2016 is not so far away. It seems like only yesterday I met new 2015! Well, October came to its end and now it's time to share some products I was loving in the past month.

I want to start with skincare. It's well known that when it comes to the fall and winter our skin starts being dry as fallen leaves. This year I decided not to save on the skincare, because I'm not 18 anymore and my skin won't become more plump and moisturized by its own. These products were saving me from skin "drought" in October.

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Serum (1.7 oz - 64$)

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Serum

It's a magical serum, which I bought about 5 years ago for the first time. This is one of those products I use over and over again. It's my serene harbor that gives sense of comfort and calms me. I put this serum only in the morning after applying some lotion to the skin, and it makes it fill velvety and moisturized. But at the same time there is absolutely no stickiness at all. And you don't have to wave convulsively with your hands to make face dry faster. It's a crucial point as in the morning the time vanishes like sand running through the fingers. There is no time for anything like this, because you've been already late, and rushing to the work in one shoe, shaggy, with a piece of sandwich in your mouth. That's why the speed of skincare product absorption so important in the morning.

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector (0.34 oz - 41$)

Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector

The name of this corrector speaks for itself. It's an eye cream with a metal applicator aimed to deal with puffiness and dark circles. For me having this kind of product in my life is very important. Huge dark under-eye circles just make my existence unbearable. It's fine to be white as paper, but bluish dark circles make me look like zombie alive. And let's be honest, it's appropriate only on the Halloween. I've been using Clinique Even Better Dark Circle Corrector for two month, and really like it. First of all, the consistency is not too heavy and not greasy at all. Perfect for morning. As mentioned before: the most important thing in the mornings is the speed of absorption. Metal tip awakens your skin, reduces puffiness and makes your circles less visible. Generally speaking, my love to this product is sincere and pure.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (1 oz - 46$)

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I noticed that in off-season period my skincare routine is missing out some face oil. As the feeling of stickiness on the skin freaking me out, I needed something light, but effective. There were a lot of good reviews on this brand on YouTube and I've been ogling Kiehl's for a long time now. And finally I decided to spend a decent amount of money on it. But as the smallest amount is needed for your whole face, I suppose it will last for a long time. It should be applied only in the evenings, after taking off all the makeup and dirt. I warm the oil up between my palms and apply with pressing motions. Now, it has reeeeeally strong smell of herbs, like in some exotic shop with aroma oils. But then it disappears, living very light and nice perfume scent. This concentrate is not greasy or gross; it has light consistency and lives your skin extremely nourished. One more awesome feature is that it doesn't make my face shine like disco ball in the morning. It awakens the skin, but doesn't leave a residue. T-zone doesn't shine and this makes me really happy.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (14 oz - 7$)

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Apparently, everybody on the Internet has already sung praises of this water. It's popular worldwide: in America, Canada, England, and Europe. And there are some reasons for this admiration. I wanted to try out the micellar water "magic" for a long time and was curious whether all great reviews were true or not. And it appeared to be...true! This cleanser is the magic in the bottle! It takes off everything: mascara, foundation and even long-wear lipstick! And it is water, I mean, it feels like water..it’s like you're washing your face with water. It doesn't irritate your eyes and doesn't leave gross residue on the skin. It's such a pity, that we don't have Garnier in Japan. Now regretting that was stupid enough not to buy 10 bottles of back up while I was in Europe.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (Vanille Clair) (1.014 oz - 17$)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Oooooh I ADORE this one! This foundation also was found by me on the Internet, it had great reviews and I wanted to try it, but for some crazy reason Bourjois had left Japan and apparently won't come back. Why, Bourjois, why?!  While my vacations in Europe, there was a big cosmetic shop and there it was, beautiful and tempting. So I grabbed the lightest shade and never let it go. And again, it was sooo stupid of me not to buy a back up...This Mix Serum is gorgeous! It has a strong smell though. Well, it's fine with me. I like the fruity scent. This stuff smells like summer! It has light gel-like texture, very nourishing and blendable. For my combination to dry skin – just perfect. The foundation has light to medium coverage, but you can build it up if you want to. #onelove

Natasha Denona All Over Glow Face and Body Shimmer Powder (38$)

Natasha Denona All Over Glow Face and Body Shimmer Powder

I've already mentioned this product in my Natasha Denona Haul post and fell in love with this soooo hard and have been using it literally non-stop. The other day I was finishing my makeup and of course reached for the Face and Body Glow. And you know what? I hit the pan!

Natasha Denona All Over Glow Face and Body Shimmer Powder

It filled me with excitement and horror at the same time. When you hitting the pan, it's overwhelming and you feel like: Yes! But then you understand that your favorite powder is about to end, and you like: Nooooo! I thought that we with my beloved Face and Body Glow would have a long time to spend together, but oops...guess I loved it too hard:)

Lumene Touch Of Radiance (8$)

Lumene Touch Of Radiance

I have very special relationships with concealers and highlighters. As you already understood the reason is in dark circles living under my eyes. Plus, having dry skin in that area completes the full set of "joys". I keep buying concealers and they keep disappointing me. But not this time!  Saw it in the video of one famous make-up artist, bought it and have not touched any of my other concealers since then.

Lumene Touch Of Radiance

They say on the Internet that you should not cry and get under the rain while wearing it, as you will have white streaks streaming down the face. But I'm not going to cry outside and not going to be soaked by the rain, so these reasons didn't stop me from buying this product. If you're going to cry, cry at home, where nobody sees you and judges for looking like a panda. Lumene Touch of Radiance perfectly hides dark circles and highlights the under-eye area. Besides the consistency is perfect, light and moisturizing.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (04 petal shimmer, 25$)

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

This lip-gloss was tantalizing me for a really long time. I was constantly circling around the Clarins corner, tried out and smelled every single tester. This is an amazing product, but the price...after all; it's just a lip-gloss, not even long wearing lipstick or something. So I kept circling around it, until my best friend, who noticed my "dancing" moves, bought it for me as a gift. As it's a pricey one, I tried to refuse, but she didn't have any of my no's:) And now, thanks to her, there is one more favorite lippie in my collection. It smells delicious, like cotton candy. This Lip Perfector has creamy texture without any stickiness and makes lips look deliciously attractive.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer (33$)

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

No doubt, everybody heard about this one. It supposes to make your lips more plump and sexy. I was always a little bit scared to use such kind of lip maximizers because of strong minty scent and weird sensations. Many of these just make lips look red, but not plump. Before buying this one, I looked through all the reviews and decided to get it with a discount at Duty Free.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Thank God I purchased this stuff! It's amazeballs! This gloss really makes your lips look plumper and sexier. It's a little bit sticky, but stays on forever. At first Dior Lip Maximizer gives you weird sensation, but then tingling disappears and it feels like you're having a very tempting juicy lips.

That's all for my October favorites. If you love some of these favs too, feel free to leave a comment below. It'll be very interesting to know your opinion on these products.

My very first order from Sephora.com

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and Becca vs. Jaclyn Hill Champaign Pop highlighter

As you know, currently I’m living in Japan. So I don’t really have an opportunity to buy stuff, which is hyped in beauty community on Youtube. Of course, there are a lot of products here in Japan, but all of these products are targeted at Asian type of skin and Asian type of make-up. And I feel that I just don’t feet in with my type of skin. There are a lot of American and European brands, of course. For example MAC and Loreal, Maybelline and Laura Mercier, Nyx and Revlon. But you know what the main problem is? The color range is not the same as in America or Europe. It’s ok, I get it. There are not so many Americans or Europeans here, so the main target is Japanese women. And I just can’t find the foundation color that matches me and blushes are too pink for me, lipstick are too bright or dark. Do you see my point?

So as I’m a big fan of Youtube and watch a lot of videos about make-up, of course I get excited about new palettes or foundations, or whatever it is. But the thing is, I can’t buy it here, or to speak more accurately, I can buy make-up in auctions, but it's too overpriced there, or I can buy it at Ebay, but without any confidence in authenticity of the product. There some sites which do not overprice products, but they have pricy international shipping. So do you see what a pain in the ass buying make-up that is popular in America or UK?

Recently I was watching Jaclyn Hill, who I adore,  and she announced that she and Becca released a highlighter! Yaas! And this highlighter suits everybody. Including pale people like me. Oh my! I’m pale as a ghost and it’s hard to find the right highlighter for me. I was so excited and almost hyperventilated a little. And then Jaclyn said, that Sephora.com does ship internationally! Oh wow! I didn’t know that. In the middle of the night, with shaky hands, I went to Sephora.com and search for this highlighter. I found it, but..it was sold out..! It was such a disappointment. But I decided not to give up on it. I was checking Sephora 24 hour. It was about a couple of days since that video and finally I received an email from Sephora. Oh yeah! It was there, on the site. I bought it right away. In order to make my international shipping worth it, I decided to buy Too Faced Choclate Bar palette as well. Kathleen Lights was talking about it in her favorites and it smells like chocolate, so I was looking for an opportunity to buy it. I’m a girl and I NEED a palette that smells like chocolate in my life, alright? :) In about a week my beauty treasure was here, in my hands, and I was so exited, you guys! I can say it worth all the money I spent on it. Will be posting reviews on it soon!

My little haul

The other day I went to the cosmetic shop located in a busy part of the town. I came right before opening and the place was crowded with beauty lovers like me. I like to wonder around the shop in my own pace and sometimes it takes me a long time to test, touch and smell all of the products around me. Honestly speaking, I'm a little bit obsessed with make up and beauty products. But who doesn't? Don't judge me:)

This time I had some kind of a list in my head: mascara, finishing powder and lip liner. So here is my little haul!

NYX butter gloss in Maple Blondie

I was wondering around these glosses for a long time. It's not so famous in Japan, where I'm currently living, so my eyes just didn't stop on this product. But when I began to watch beauty gurus on YouTube, I became conscious about American make-up products. NYX isn't that chip here in Japan, but the quality and color range is quite wide and suit my "western" type of face. So I decided to give it a try. On the other hand I wasn't that excited about the stickiness of this lip glosses. But as soon as I've tried it on my lips, I understood why it's called "butter gloss"! Oh My! It was so smooth and made my lip feel so plump and juicy, that I didn't mind my lips be a little bit sticky. And I decided to buy light coral color Maple Blondie, that'll perfectly match my summer looks.

Revlon Lash Potion smudge proof volume and length mascara

This is my second revlon mascara and what can I say, I LOVE it! I'm so happy, I gave it a shot. You will ask me, why am I so obsessed with it? First of all, it's a film type of mascara. It means, it won't smudge, but it will come off easily, if you wash your face with warm water. Isn't it a holy grail for a lazy girl like me? Let's just put it straight, I'm hella lazy...so...yep:) I like things like this. Things that make my life easier. I've bought a ton of other so called "will be washed off with warm water" types of mascara. And you know what? Non of this mascara can be easily washed off just with warm water. For example, I had a japanese film type mascara (Motemascara), and that mascara just slide from my lashes in small balls of dirt and those balls were everywhere, even on my pillow. I just couldn't get rid of them. Then I had a Maybelline Mega Plush one. You know what? I couldn't wash it off even with the cosmetic wipes, not to mention my face wash. It was tough. And I had panda eyes for weeks...seriously...it wasn't funny at all. But this Revlon mascara, hands down, is the best film type mascara. I wash it off in a shower with a tiny little bit of my Dove face wash and rinse my eyes just one time and it's gone! My eyes are clean! Without any black stains and marks. It's a miracle. Not to mention the volume that it gives. On the other hand the wand is huge. At first I was like, wow! That's huge! But then I got used to it and now I just apply mascara more careful then I would with a normal size wand.

Chacott finishing powder with cooling effect

Chacott is a company in Japan which specialize in dance wear. They have stores and dance classes all over Japan. In collaboration with famous make-up artists they created make-up line for stage and professionals, but this line became popular among ordinary customers as well. The products of this brand can be found in fancy cosmetic stores or in stores for make-up junkies. This finishing powder is a limited edition of their famous powder. It has SPF20 and PA++, so I can feel safe in the sun. It also has a cooling effect. When I applied it for the very first time, I felt that tingling is quite strong, but then I fall in love with this awaking feeling on my face. This powder has only one shade, which is medium ochre, but it so light and sheer, that the color doesn't really matter. It has light minty smell, and it's a plus for me, but not for everyone I suppose. This powder does a great job in preventing my make-up from melting in insanely hot weather here in Japan. So great job, Chacott.

Excel Lip Liner in Peach

This liner is also a product of company in Japan, named Excel Tokyo Rich Casual by NOEVIR. It was built back in 1987 and became popular because it's not pricey and reflects all make-up trends here in Japan. I love their shadow pallets, actually. They have a great range of colors and shadows stay on your lids all day long. The texture of Excel shadow is always very smooth and buttery. And it's cheap! How great is that! So I decided to buy some lip liner and Excel seemed to be a great choice. I'm ashamed to say it, but I haven't use lip liners before, actually, I haven't use lipsticks as much. All I ever needed was a tinted lip balm and I was ready to go. But now I decided to give my lips some color and shape, so I bought nude lip liner, liner for beginners:) This liner is soft and thick. You can fill all your lips with it and top it with some lip gloss. It's in an easy twist-up pencil and you don't need to have a sharpener, which will get lost somewhere anyways. I chose Peach, because it is the shade of my lips, but better, so I can make my lips more plump. Every girl want plump lips! Ask Kylie Jenner;)

So this was my little haul. Hope it was helpful and interesting.
